Success Story: EB2 NIW Approval for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the field of Nano Science in 4½ months

On July 24th, 2013, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) Approval for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the field of Nano Science (Approval Notice)

General Field: Nano Science Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Country of Origin: Korea Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC) State of Residence at the Time of Filing:  Nevada Approval Notice Date: July 24, 2013 Processing Time:  4½ months

Case Summary:

Another exceptional client that Chen Immigration Law Associates had the pleasure of working with was a postdoctoral research fellow from Korea working in the field of nano science. His research had focused specifically on the chemistry and engineering based applications of the science, including heat transfer for the development of sustainable energy systems, polymer materials and chemistry, and analysis of Nano Porous Surfaces. We at Chen Immigration Law Associates demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would not only benefit those in his field, but the citizens of the United States at large. To achieve success in this case, we submitted extensive documentation proving our client’s highly significant contributions to the field of nano science, including at least 17 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. These publications had been cited at least 56 times at the time of case filing.  Of his accomplishments, one of the independent recommenders remarked: “[Client’s] current research is providing new insights into fundamental mechanisms of heat transfer at nanoscale. These insights will help us better understand and develop nano-structured surfaces for heat transfer enhancement.” Through extensive documentation, we at Chen Immigration Law Associates successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW application was approved in 4 ½ months.
