Success Story: Improving Cancer Diagnosis Through Precision Hematopathology With NIW Approval
On July 8th, 2026, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Physician in the Field of Hematopathology (Approval Notice).

Case Summary:
Every treatment plan begins with an accurate diagnosis. For patients with hematologic malignancies, even small differences in disease classification can influence prognosis and determine which therapies are most appropriate. The client's research seeks to make those decisions more reliable by developing precision diagnostic algorithms that combine morphologic evaluation with cytology and molecular profiling. Working as a physician at the time of filing, the client aims to improve how complex blood cancers are identified, classified, and managed in clinical practice.
The petition emphasized that the client's work extended beyond refining laboratory techniques. By integrating next-generation sequencing into diagnostic workflows and validating molecular markers associated with disease progression, the client's research supported earlier detection, more consistent classification, and better treatment stratification for patients with hematologic malignancies. We also demonstrated that these standardized approaches could be implemented across different healthcare settings, helping reduce diagnostic variability while supporting the broader adoption of precision oncology.

Beyond these accomplishments, the petition illustrated how the client's findings were already informing subsequent research. Other investigators actively cited the client's studies when examining gastrointestinal oncology, microbial influences on disease progression, and advanced biomarker-based diagnostics for clinical risk assessment.
