“Considering [Client’s] remarkable ability to uncover the genetic mechanisms underlying pathophysiology, as well as the overall caliber of his research, it is more than apparent that he is operating at the top of our field. Therefore, it is in our field’s collective interest that [Client] is permitted to continue conducting research in the United States.”

The statement above comes from one of the four recommendation letters submitted as part of our client’s I-140 National Interest Waiver (NIW) petition. With guidance from the North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG), the case was successfully approved, recognizing the substantial merit and national importance of the client’s research.

Advancing Gene Therapy for Neurological Diseases

Holding a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology, the client specializes in molecular neuroscience and is conducting advanced research aimed at developing gene therapy tools to better understand molecular and genetic mechanisms that drive neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. The focus of this research is to identify novel therapeutic targets and disease-modifying agents for a range of conditions, including autism, Alzheimer’s disease, vascular cognitive impairment, and dementia.

In the current work, the client applies innovative molecular techniques to investigate how genetic factors influence brain and vascular function. In support of the petition, we highlighted the client’s strong publication record, which includes three peer-reviewed journal articles (two of them first-authored), one first-authored conference abstract, and two preprints (one first-authored). The client’s scholarly contributions have been cited 19 times, underscoring the growing impact of the research in the scientific community.

The petition also documented the client’s role in nationally funded projects, with research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), two premier funding institutions that prioritize work advancing public health and national security. Such recognition demonstrates that the client’s research is both credible and essential to the advancement of U.S. biomedical innovation.
