On July 6th, 2017, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Molecular Physiology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Molecular Physiology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow

Country of Origin: Russia

Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Outside the US

Approval Notice Date: July 6th, 2017

Processing Time: 59 Days

Case Summary:

Just 2 months after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) for a postdoctoral fellow from Russia, the USCIS approved his case. We were particularly pleased with the rapid timeline as it usually takes between 4-9 months for the USCIS to take action on I-140 cases.

What did the NIW petition dossier contain?

Leaving no stone unturned, we incorporated a wealth of information into our client’s NIW petition, all of which pertained to his work in the field of molecular physiology. From noting his doctoral degree to discussing his research, we did everything we could to prove that our client’s work is beneficial to the United States and that he deserved the national interest waiver.

Amongst other things, we noted the 42 citations gathered from his 14 publications as well as the 2 times he judged the work of his peers. We also went through his research summary and determined that he is focused on applying molecular biological techniques to create RNA therapies and prevent cardiovascular diseases. We then established that his work is of great importance to the nation because molecular physiology is critical to understanding how the physical and chemical properties of cells control cellular activities that manifest in discernible bodily functions.

In a bid to further fortify our client’s case, we encouraged him to reach out to his peers and ask for recommendation letters. Not long after we helped our client narrow down potential recommenders, he returned with six signed letters, one of which contained this statement: “[Client] has clearly impacted both the medical and scientific communities, proving himself to be one of the most impactful scientific researchers in the field.”

Not only were we able to establish our client’s elite status in the field, we also convinced the USCIS that his findings are of national importance. We congratulate our client for obtaining the national interest waiver, and we thank him for retaining our services to help him adjust his status for permanent residence.
