WeGreened Approval Statistics: Week of July 21, 2025

During the week of July 21–27, 2025, WeGreened received a total of 101 approval notices from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) category continued to dominate approvals, reflecting its popularity among petitioners whose work serves substantial national interest. The EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) category also maintained steady approval rates, demonstrating consistent recognition for individuals with distinguished achievements in their fields.

Approval Distribution by Category and Service Center

Of the 101 approvals, 68 were for NIW, 24 for EB1A, 4 for EB1B (Outstanding Professors or Researchers), and 5 for O1A (Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement). The Nebraska Service Center processed 11 EB1A and 39 NIW approvals, while the Texas Service Center handled 12 EB1A and 27 NIW approvals. One EB1A and one NIW case were transferred from NSC to TSC, and one NIW case was transferred from TSC to NSC.

EB1A and NIW Credential Analysis

EB1A petitioners showcased robust academic productivity, with publications ranging from 5 to 51 articles (median 17) and citations between 209 and 1,786 (median 663). This indicates sustained international influence and significant scholarly contributions.

NIW petitioners displayed diverse academic outputs, from 1 to 99 publications (median 10.5) and citations between 16 and 5,827 (median 160). This wide range highlights USCIS’s flexible adjudication standards, emphasizing both academic rigor and practical national contributions.

Insights on Petitioner Backgrounds and Fields

EB1A approvals spanned areas such as advanced materials, artificial intelligence, biomedical research, and theoretical physics, typically affiliated with prominent academic or research institutions. NIW cases broadly encompassed fields like computer science, medicine, chemical engineering, and psychology, emphasizing impactful contributions to American technological advancement, healthcare improvements, industrial optimization, and societal welfare.

Highlighted Petitioner Case

One notable approval this week involved a National Interest Waiver petitioner working as a Process Engineer in the chemical industry. The petitioner had 7 publications and 87 citations. Despite fewer academic citations compared to many other approvals, the petition successfully demonstrated the practical and direct contributions of their industrial processes and innovations to U.S. economic growth, environmental sustainability, and industrial efficiency. USCIS recognized the clear practical impact and industry-driven innovation, affirming that significant contributions in industry-focused roles remain highly valued under NIW standards.

Adjudication Trends and Policy Observations

For EB1A, USCIS continues emphasizing global recognition, substantial scholarly contributions, peer-reviewed authorship, and recognized leadership roles within the petitioners’ fields. In contrast, NIW adjudications remain open and adaptive, with officers positively evaluating interdisciplinary approaches, applied research, and direct benefits to societal, economic, and technological domains in the United States.

Overall, these results continue to affirm that petitioners who effectively highlight their unique contributions and national interest relevance are finding consistent success across USCIS categories.
