Case Summary:
An Indian expert in the field of microbiology hired our services for his NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. He was a post-doctoral fellow with a Ph.D. in biological sciences. Having worked in the field for 16 long years, he had gained immense experience which lent to the reliability of his work. This gave him an edge over others and helped speed up the adjudication process. As a researcher, he had been working on characterizing essential virus host factors and virulence traits of zoonotic viruses; in order to enhance the effectiveness to targeted treatments and vaccines for combating viral diseases. This meant that his research was of great importance because disease- or pathogen-transmitting vectors, such as mosquitoes, present a significant global public health challenge. His work has provided the strategy to control transmission of chikungunya and other viral infections through mosquitos into human hosts as well. His work presents novel methods to reduce viral transmission and treat these illnesses in people. As such, his work was relevant to tackling immediate animal and human health challenges faced around the globe.
Our team discovered while preparing his case that his work had also been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the premier government organization for supporting biological and medical research, and by the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate. At the same time, he has completed at least 25 reviews to date. Given that only the most highly esteemed researchers in the field are invited to evaluate the work of their peers, especially in notable journals, it was clear that our client is seen as very knowledgeable in the field and an expert in topics related to his proposed endeavor.
His work had also yielded 16 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored), 1 preprint, as well as one book chapter. And these publications have been cited a total of 432 times according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of microbiology.
Thus, when his NIW adjudication was complete, we were happy to know that we had been a part of his journey. We are thankful to him for working with us and retaining our services for his EB1-A petition.
