Case Summary:

In this case, the client that we had the opportunity to work with was an Assistant Project Scientist from India in the field of cell and molecular biology.  His work had primarily focused on the therapeutic effects of hormone replacement therapy during menopause, as well as anti-diabeticcompounds, and the role of tight junctional proteins in colon cancer and other bowel-related disorders.  His work had resulted in 19 peer-reviewed scientific articles.  At the time that his case was filed, his publications had been cited at least 446 times by researchers around the world, serving as apparent and objective evidence of his major influence and impact on the field of endeavor, in addition to his sustained international acclaim.  He had also reviewed 10 manuscripts for journals related to his field.  The value of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “He also produced data showing increased expression of claudin-2 in colorectal cancer cells, further deepening the scientific community’s understanding of the tell-tale biomarkers of colon cancer… This is yet another way in which [he] has made breakthrough discoveries about the mechanisms behind colorectal cancer development that will most certainly lead to new, more effective forms of treatment.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that he sought remain in the United States to continue work in the area of extraordinary ability, and that his continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States.
