“Thank you. Its great news.”

On September 2nd, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Chemistry (Approval Notice).

General Field: Chemistry

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow

Country of Origin: India

Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Massachusetts

Approval Notice Date: September 2nd, 2016

Processing Time: 8 months, 22 days

Case Summary:

Exactly 8 months and 22 days after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition on behalf of a postdoctoral fellow from India, he received notification of case approval. This came as a relief because our client encountered a speedbump along the way to petition approval: we raised a service request on his behalf after his case was considered outside the normal processing timeline. In response, the USCIS informed us that our client’s case was pending consideration and that they were not able to give us a timeframe. To our delight, they ultimately approved his EB-1A petition and we have no doubt that our meticulous efforts in presenting our client’s solid credentials played a big role in it.

In preparing our client’s case, we made sure to amass as much information as we could on his professional achievements. These included, but were not limited to: the 30 times he assessed the work of his peers, the 3 scientific articles, patents, and numerous conference presentations to his name, and the 132 citations collected from his work. Taken together, they demonstrated just how important our client is to the overall progress of the field.

Several experts in our client’s field of chemistry lent support to his case in the form of recommendation letters. Referencing our client’s credentials, one of them stated that “The impact he has had on the scientific community is evident, especially in consideration of the 131 citations attributable to his work. It is plain that [Client] is an example to other scientists and sets the standards for modern chemistry studies.” According to another supporter: “His work is captivating due to its distinct originality and the importance of his results.”

As we were able to prove that our client’s work on organic chemistry synthesis is important to the US (especially when it comes to the development of anti-cancer therapies, efficient production of pharmaceutically active compounds and agrochemicals), the USCIS was compelled to approve his EB-1A petition. We congratulate our client for overcoming this immense hurdle in the green card process and we wish him the best as he continues to improve the field of chemistry here in the United States.
