Success Stories: NIW Petition Approved for a Research Associate in Massachusetts in the Field of Neuroscience

Client’s Testimonial:

This small note is to appreciate the great work done by the law firm of Chen Immigration helping to get my I-140 approval in the process of getting the Green Card in EB2 National Interest Waiver. They were professional in every step of the way and helped and guided me in getting all the documents in excellent shape. They did draft all reference letters and a first author contribution letter as well. Their staff is diligent in getting the documents to look professional even if the originals may not be in perfect English. I would highly recommend the law firm of Chen Immigration to qualified research professional to get their Green Card processed.

Case Summary:

The client that North America Immigration Law Group had the opportunity to work in this case was a neuroscientist from Japan.  His work had focused specifically on neuronal control pertaining to movement, air-righting reflexes, and postural control. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 8 peer-reviewed journal articles. His publications had been cited at least 41 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field.  The importance of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender: “[Client’s] research is of great significance to researchers like myself who seek to improve our understanding of the underlying physiological mechanisms of human circadian rhythms in order to develop new forms of prophylactic and therapeutic treatment for diseases that are associated with disturbances in these rhythms.”  Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 6 months and 16 days.
