Case Summary:

Nearly ten and a half months after we filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition for a postdoctoral fellow from Taiwan, Nebraska Service Center approved his case. Our firm, North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com), worked tirelessly to obtain petition approval. Our client has years of experience conducting fruitful research in the field of computational biology and possesses a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. Our strategy of dealing with this case was to present pertinent details of our client’s career in a meticulous and concise manner. Some of the details we highlighted were:

– At the time of filing, our client had a sizeable 153 citations to his published work which consisted of 10 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 3 first-authored articles. This is no small achievement since this significantly demonstrates the international influence of our client’s research results.

– Our client’s work focuses specifically on using computational models to analyze viral epidemics, such as the influenza virus, and design pharmaceutical compounds. His contributions in designing tuberculosis drugs and investigating light-driven ion pumps substantially broaden the healthcare community’s understanding of influenza. Since computational modeling is an important field in the United States’ research arena, our client’s substantial contributions in this field strengthens and empowers medical research, evolutionary biology, and even nanotechnology. Undeniably, it benefits the United States to retain a scientist of such high caliber in order to advance the country’s understanding of computational biology.

– Of immense significance were the 4 recommendation letters gathered from other influential experts. One of these letters contributed by a renowned professor stated: “[Client] has a rare penchant for innovation, as well as the skills, knowledge, and talent required to produce influential work. In fact, this skillset has distinguished [Client] from his peers and allowed his research to progress beyond the output of the average researcher.” Similar words of appreciation contained in the other letters endorsed our client’s credentials and achievements.

After assembling a comprehensive and impactful NIW petition, we filed it on our client’s behalf. After the adjudication timeline crept outside the normal processing timeframe, we raised a service request. Less than 2 months later, our client’s petition was approved (after a total of 10 months and 9 days). We are happy that our client secured an NIW approval and is now one step closer to his dream of permanent residency in the United States. We offer our best wishes to him as he sets off on the final leg of the green card journey: filing an I-485 application.
