Success Stories: NIW Petition Approved for Electrochemistry/Materials Scientist in California in the Field of Electrochemical Engineering

Client’s Testimonial:

“Thanks for all your help and as you might have guessed, I’m satisfied with your job at preparing my case!”

On September 19th, 2017, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for an Electrochemistry/Materials Scientist in the Field of Electrochemical Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Electrochemical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Electrochemistry/Materials Scientist

Country of Origin: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

Service Center: Iran

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: California

Approval Notice Date: September 19th, 2017

Processing Time: 13 months, 21 days

Case Summary:

Despite the long wait (nearly 14 months instead of the expected 4-9 months), an electrochemistry/materials scientist from Iran finally secured petition approval. When he first approached us to help him build and file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case, we carefully went through his credentials to be sure that we could help him secure petition approval. With two master’s degrees and extensive experience conducting research in the field of electrochemical engineering, our client certainly fit the bill when it came to receiving the national interest waiver.

Putting together a solid NIW case:

Our team worked diligently to prove to the USCIS that our client is conducting impactful research and that his findings greatly benefit the United States. We went about this by reviewing and summarizing his work on the application of electrochemical procedures in the development of bio-nanocomposite coatings and glucose biosensors, as well as the tracking of biofilm corrosion in drinking water distribution systems. We concluded that his specific research with different medical implements is contributing to the United States’ national health care system and technology industries, as well as patients’ quality of life.

To drive home our point that our client’s research is essential to the overall progress of the field, we listed the 25 times his 3 publications were cited. Using these numbers, we proved that his work is recognized and relied upon by other electrochemical engineers.

Gathering additional evidence:

To further strengthen our client’s NIW petition, we included recommendation letters which he had collected from several of his peers. These letters contained subjective proof that his work is important to the US and that he deserved to get one step closer to a green card. As an example, this is what one of his recommenders noted in their letter: “Based on [Client’s] demonstrated value to American industry and infrastructure, halting his work would be detrimental to research throughout the United States.”

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our client for securing the national interest waiver, and for trusting us to help him accomplish this goal. We wish him the best as he continues to progress the field of electrochemical engineering here in the US.
