“Thank you very much for all your support and strategies in preparing this case.”

On October 13th, 2020, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Field of Cancer Biology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Cancer Biology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Country of Origin: India

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: North Carolina

Approval Notice Date: October 13th, 2020

Processing Time: 1 year and 1 month

Case Summary:

With a Ph.D. in biological sciences, there is no denying that our client, a postdoctoral research associate from India, is capable of carrying out effective research in her field. Her work has led to various accomplishments, a couple of which include, 7 peer-reviewed journal articles (5 of them first-authored) which gathered a total of 93 citations and the 13 times our client judged the work of her peers.

When preparing her petition packet, we paid close attention to her research on RAS oncogenesis. We gathered a wealth of information that proved her findings are relevant to the field of cancer biology because it provides novel therapeutic avenues for cancers with high mortality rates. Her research addresses mutations in the RAS gene, which accounts for the development of roughly 30% of all cancers.

The aforementioned achievements from our client’s career were efficiently incorporated into the NIW dossier. In order to strengthen her case further, we advised her to collect recommendation letters from other researchers and notable experts in the field. Of the 5 recommendation letters she collected, one of whom stated that: “Undoubtedly, [client] has completed research beneficial to the research community and beyond. Her work continues to revolutionize targets and approaches for treating fungal pathogenesis and cancer, and her continued research is indispensable to the United States.” Another expert noted that: “[Client’s] work is largely beneficial for the United States in particular, as cancer has consistently been one of the most serious health conditions threatening the nation. ” Undoubtedly, these letters affirmed our client’s candidature for receiving the national interest waiver.

We are pleased that the USCIS was persuaded to approve the petition without an RFE, and we thank our client for retaining us for her EB1A application which makes her more close to her green card.
