Case Summary:
With a Ph.D. in mechanical and nuclear engineering, there is no denying that our client, a postdoctoral researcher from South Korea, is capable of carrying out effective research in his field. His work has led to various accomplishments, a couple of which include 8 peer-reviewed journal articles (4 of them first-authored) which gathered a total of 103 citations.
When preparing his petition packet, we paid close attention to his research on interfacial science among silica-based materials, mechano-chemical reaction at the sliding surface of silica and hydrocarbons. We gathered a wealth of information that proved his findings are relevant to his field because it connects the atomistic scale physics and chemistry to macro-scale applications and industrial products. His research has also revealed important new information about the mechanics of friction between different surfaces and provided more accurate, practical, and low-cost simulation parameters for testing those interactions.
The aforementioned achievements from our client’s career were efficiently incorporated into the NIW dossier. In order to strengthen his case further, we advised him to collect recommendation letters from other researchers and notable experts in the field. Of the 4 recommendation letters he collected, one of whom stated that: “With his research, [client] enhances the defensive capacities of these crucial military resources. His investigation into improving technology employed by the armed forces allows for greater protection for those who protect the United States from external threat.” Undoubtedly, these letters affirmed our client’s candidature for receiving the national interest waiver.
We are pleased that the USCIS was persuaded to approve the petition, despite waiting for 17 months and 27 days. We thank our client for retaining us for his I-485 applications which makes him more close to his green card.
