Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) was contracted to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on behalf of a postdoctoral researcher from Taiwan. Our client’s doctoral degree, his extensive experience in the field of electrical and computer engineering, and various other professional accomplishments made him a strong candidate for NIW.

Our legal team worked meticulously to compose a strong presentation that would inform and ultimately convince the USCIS that our client’s development of advanced circuit designs for use in high-performance, energy-efficient computers is of substantial merit to the United States. We also ensured that the immigration officers at TSC were aware that only a scant handful of researchers with similar qualifications can attain such praiseworthy research results. We backed up our claim by highlighting aspects of our client’s knowledge base: the 80 citations to his work and his 13 published journal articles.

To further fortify our NIW petition packet, we aided our client in selecting recommenders who could offer detailed recommendation letters. After narrowing down to the list to five experts in the field, our client coaxed them into lending their support. The letters that he obtained from them played a role in persuading the USCIS that our client’s research is an asset to the nation. It took the USCIS almost a year to approve this NIW case. We raised a service request when the processing time went beyond the norm, and were informed that our client’s case was under “extended review.” However, the USCIS ultimately granted their approval less than a month later.
