Case Summary:

With a doctorate in computer engineering and extensive experience conducting research in the same field, our client seemed like a suitable candidate for the national interest waiver. When he approached North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help him build and file a strong EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case, we carefully reviewed his credentials before countersigning the retainer agreement. Only once we confirmed that we could help him waive the job offer and labor certification requirements did we start work on his case.

What did the NIW petition contain?

We worked diligently to gather a wealth of information related to our client’s various achievements in the field of computer engineering. His role as a postdoctoral research fellow has allowed him to carry out many research projects, the most important of which have yielded results that benefit the United States. For instance, we noted his studies on next-generation cryptographic systems and demonstrated that they directly address the growing threat of cyberattacks with the increase in devices attached to the internet and expansion of the internet of things (IoT).

Alongside project details, we also noted the 6 peer-reviewed journal articles (6 of them first-authored), 14 peer-reviewed conference papers, and 1 U.S. patent to his name. Furthermore, we detailed the 175 citations gathered from these publications and the 30 times he had judged the work of his peers.

To further fortify our client’s NIW case, we incorporated recommendation letters that he had gathered from other experts working in the field. According to one of them: “The repeated confirmation of [Client’s] results signify the accuracy of his research and its importance to the changing needs of cybersecurity.” Another expert stated that “[Client’s] adaptable, cost-effective cybersecurity solutions exemplify his aptitude for effective real-world problem solving that addresses pertinent issues in the fast-paced world of technology.”

From the date of filing to the date of petition approval, our client only waited 72 days. We congratulate him for securing NIW petition approval based on Matter of Dhanasar*.
