Case Summary:
Recently at Chen Immigration Law Associates we received a National Interest Waiver approval for a client from Taiwan. This client is a R&D Chief Scientist specializing in the highly specialized field of polymer science. His work specialized in the study of the attachment of DNA molecules to live cell surfaces for the purpose of cellular analysis and development of cell therapeutics. Successful research in our client's field addresses pressing issues related to the understanding of cellular processes and signaling pathways leading to cancer, heart disease and various pathologies, as well as providing novel therapeutic strategies to increase detection and early treatment of such devastating diseases. Particularly, he is advancing cancer cell therapy, early cancer diagnosis, and cancer drug development with patented technologies that are also being implemented by stem cell researchers, bioengineers and cell and chemical biologists. In order to ensure the success of this case, we submitted extensive documentation of our client’s highly significant contributions to his field. Our client’s work has resulted in at least 11 publications, 1 patent, and numerous international collaborations. Furthermore, his publications have been cited at least 230 times by researchers all around the world from prestigious institutions. Additionally, our firm drafted and submitted several recommendation letters from experts in our client’s shared field. One of the leading researchers stated, “Based on my evaluation of the significant contributions [the Petitioner] has made to the field of biochemistry, I can conclude that he is a researcher of extraordinary skill and ability. His technological inventions are unprecedented and will go a long way to improving treatment plans and saving lives. The United States is known for having the best resources available for scientific development than any other nation in the world, and thus both [the Petitioner] and the country would greatly benefit from his remaining in the U.S.” With the strong petition letter and recommendation letters we prepared, our client’s NIW case was approved.
