“Thanks for your help!”
On January 23rd, 2020, we received another O1-A (Individual with extraordinary ability or achievement) approval for a Computational Neuro and Data Scientist in the Field of Computational Biology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Computational Biology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Computational Neuro and Data Scientist
Country of Origin: China
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas
Approval Notice Date: January 23rd, 2020
Processing Time: 8 days (Premium Processing Requested)
A computational neuro and data scientist from China hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help him file an O-1A (Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement) petition. With a Ph.D. in chemistry and extensive experience in systems biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, computational analysis, and biological modeling, our client checked all the boxes when it came to qualifying for O1-A. These are the criteria he claimed:
- Original contributions: At the time of filing, our client had already been cited 681 times. This proved the value of his work not just to other researchers but to the field of computational biology as a whole.
- Authorship: The many years that our client has dedicated to the field have resulted in 12 peer-reviewed scientific articles, all of which were published in well-known scientific journals.
- Judge of others’ work: To highlight the fact that our client’s ideas and opinions are respected by other researchers in the field, we presented his peer review record- 14 reviews conducted by the time we filed his case.
Beside data on the three O1-A criteria mentioned above, our client’s petition packet contained a wealth of information related to his impactful research on the development of advanced computational models and tools for studying gene regulatory networks. His research addresses some of our nation’s most pressing issues in understanding the genetic mechanisms and cellular behaviors underlying cancer. In a bid to further fortify our client’s O1-A petition, we also included 4 written advisory opinions contributed by experts from well-known institutions around the world. These letters advocated for the approval of our client’s O1-A petition and supported our argument that he is indeed an individual with extraordinary ability. One of these letters contained statements like: “[Client] has moved the field forward through his own studies, and his current work carries immense academic and medical value. [Client] is wielding advanced technology to gain more information about cancer, one of the world’s top medical issues. He is therefore essential to both the global computational biology field and the United States’ scientific community, and as such deserves their support.”
Thanks to premium processing (PP), our client received notification of case approval merely 8 days after we filed the personalized O1-A petition on his behalf. We thank him for choosing us to help him attain this nonimmigrant visa, and we wish him best as he conducts impactful research in the United States.
