Client’s Testimonial:

“Thanks very much for the prompt exciting news.”

On March 15th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Research Associate in the Field of Organic Chemistry (Approval Notice).

General Field: Organic Chemistry

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Associate

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Oregon

Approval Notice Date: March 15th, 2017

Processing Time: 9 months, 18 days

Case Summary:

After waiting 9 months and 18 days, a research associate from China secured EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition approval. Just a month later, he received the good news that his I-485 application had also been approved, making him an official US permanent resident. The reason why his I-485 was approved so quickly is because he chose to file it while his I-140 EB1A was pending approval, which essentially gave the USCIS a head start in processing his application.

Submitting a strong EB1A petition:

After evaluating our client’s credentials, we determined that we had to focus on several key elements if we wanted to obtain petition approval. We noted the 316 citations collected from his 2 publications and the 40 times he assessed the work of his peers. Furthermore, we thoroughly went through his research summary to better understand his research. Based on what we learned, we established that his work on developing novel anticancer compounds addresses some of the United States most important issues in understanding the molecular mechanisms of valuable drug compounds.

In a bid to further fortify our client’s petition, we encouraged him to obtain recommendation letters from a handful of his peers. Before our client contacted them, we made sure that they were familiar with our client’s work and were experts in the field of organic chemistry. Not long after we confirmed the list of recommenders, our client returned with five signed letters, one of which contained this statement: “[Client’s] research is therefore of broad importance and value on a global level, and it is vital to the health of the field that he is permitted to remain in his current position in the United States, where he has access to the best resources available for his work.”

The comprehensive petition packet our legal team put together contained convincing evidence of the benefits of our client’s research to the United States. We would like to thank our client for selecting us to represent his EB1A petition and I-485 application. Both approvals are an example of our excellent record of helping our clients achieve their dreams of becoming US permanent residents.
