Case Summary:

The field of computer science has seen much progress since our client, an adjunct graduate faculty member, chose to dedicate her career to it. With a doctorate in computer science and engineering and ample experience conducting fieldwork, our client is undoubtedly a researcher of extraordinary ability. Not only does she have sustained national and international influence, her work is of extreme importance to the United States. She hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help her secure EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition approval, and in order to do so, we had to prove that she is a researcher at the top of her field and that she is an asset to the US. We went about this by doing the following:

• We noted the 6 peer-reviewed journal articles, 6 book chapters, and 29 conference papers in our client’s name, and demonstrated that her work has been recognized as some of the best in the field.
• Using Google Scholar and other sites like Scopus, we confirmed that her work had gathered at least 818 citations by the time we filed her EB1A petition. This proved to the USCIS that our client’s achievements have been widely recognized and relied upon by other computer scientists.
• Her peer review record was also presented to the USCIS: 30 reviews conducted for multiple scientific journals, which demonstrated her important standing in the field.

“Considering her published work, particularly her development of novel feature level fusion schemes, it is clear that [Client] is one of the most distinguished researchers engaged in biometric systems studies today. Considering her past history, I have no doubt that [Client] will continue to advance the biometric systems research field in the United States in the years to come.”

The quote above was taken from a recommendation letter contributed by a well-known computer science professor. He was not alone in his show of support for our client’s EB1A petition and was joined by 3 of his peers, all of whom contributed words of support of their own. We have no doubt that their letters paved the way for case approval.

Overall, the USCIS spent nearly 10 months processing our client’s petition before granting their approval. We congratulate her for overcoming this significant hurdle in the green card process, and we thank her for retaining our I-485 services to help her adjust her status for permanent residence.
