Case Summary:

For this EB-2 NIW case, we worked closely with a Doctoral Candidate in the field of Computer Engineering, who has contributed substantially to the innovation and implementation of semiconductors and haptics to improve the performance of computer technology. Our client’s research has focused on solving the two major issues surrounding semiconductor technology— variability and efficiency. The application of his fundamental groundwork has resulted in the creation of surgical simulators that are used for advanced medical training. In addition to our client’s direct contribution to the healthcare industry, his research efforts have been pervasive in nearly every sector of electronics. His work has culminated in 3 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts that were published in the top journals of his field, and 18 conference proceedings. Despite being a young scientist, his publications had been cited 96 times by researchers worldwide, demonstrating the significance of his contributions to the global scientific community.Furthermore, the demand for his research has resulted in multiple invitations to speak at internationally acclaimed conferences. The influence of his work was validated by an independent recommender, who stated, “Because microelectronics and their parts have become so small over the years, the potential for small differences to greatly affect the technology’s performance have become a serious problem. [Client’s] research has done a lot to address this problem and has resulted in innovative techniques that successfully minimize the negative effects of variability… This research represents a major breakthrough in the field, and his project marked the very first time that a standard parallel programming language was used in this area.” With the extensive and thorough documentation that we provided, we were able to prove that our client’s technological advancements and continued research have substantial merits for our country and the research community as a whole, thus he has served the nation to a substantially greater degree than that of others with similar education and experience. We were met with success when his NIW petition was approved in 4 months and 22 days.
